Artist Statement:
I create hand made, cut and adhere multi media collage, exploring the surreal, existential, and the Self. The material for these mixed media collages are sourced out of books, magazines, journals, and newspapers both new and old. I find the pages of New Yorker’s to be too thin and frustrating to work with. Old Esquire mags are a hoot. I select a few images and see how they move around. Don’t shoehorn a neat image into the wrong scene. If you have to ask, you already know. The less I focus on what it is, the more successful the work. I don’t have anything else to say about these collages I make, if I did, I wouldn’t need them. Maybe you can help. Currently, I am working on a long form series containing well over 50 original collages, complete with a written compendium, but am not permitted to elaborate any further at this time.
