Limbo

There is a place between asleep and awake
A veil between imagination and reality
Now you, child
You will always find me in the place between spaces
Cross that veil
Again and again
At first they will call you insane
Let them
Become the center of the universe
Turn reality into imagination
Bring dreams to life
Eat sounds
Hear colours
Touch the flavour of sweet things
Become god
And when this is not enough
Because is anything ever enough?
Tear down the veil
Collapse the space between spaces
Let matter and antimatter kiss
Imagination meets real life
And as nothing once exploded into everything
Let everything collapse into nothing
Because you chose to find me
When you were stranded in that space
That place between asleep and awake
So let there be darkness, child
You have found rest

The Taste of Colour Purple

Have you ever tasted the colour purple, Anne-Marie?
Oh, it tastes like twilight and smells like the shape
Of a teardrop
Blue smells like crystal rocks
And crystal rocks make the same sounds
As the ocean waves
When you listen
And did you know, Anne-Marie,
That you actually swim in the sky
Instead of fly?

Only at dawn though,
When the currents are gentle
The best swimmers are not afraid
To swim by noon though

And oh, Anne-Marie did you know
That a mirror is also a phone
And also a key
And also an ID card
When you look into it
All your details
And all your contacts
And all your passcodes to go anywhere
In the Upside Down Place
Are available to you?
If I looked into your mirror
It would show me “MY” details
So I wouldn’t be able to steal your mirror
And steal your identity
Unless I also stole your face

And isn't that cool Anne-Marie?

And yes, clouds do feel like cotton candy
They go great in a cup of lo-fi
To sweeten it
But if you really want
The Complete Experience
Of the In Between
Then login to your music app
When you enter the phone-booth
And while it drives you home
On the hip-hop express railway
Play coffee on the telephone
And listen all the way
As you make your way through Limbo

But oh, Anne-Marie
You’ll love it here
In the Space Between Spaces
Where colour has texture
And texture has sound
And sound has taste
You’ll love it here in that Place
Between Asleep and Awake
